THE SCIFI.COM ALIEN LOCKDOWN SWEEPSTAKES
OFFICIAL RULES
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY
  1. To enter, beginning at 12:01 AM (EST) on January 26, 2004, (a) log on to www.scifi.com, open the applicable Web page by clicking on Alien Lockdown Sweepstakes icon, and follow the instructions included therein; or (b) log on directly to www.scifi.com/alienlockdown/sweepstakes/ and follow the instructions included therein.

  2. All entries must contain the following information:

    1. Entrant's name;
    2. Entrant's date of birth;
    3. Entrant's address;
    4. Entrant's daytime telephone number;
    5. Entrant's e-mail address; and
    6. Entrant's SCIFI.COM Handle and Password

    Neither Universal Television Networks nor any of its parent, subsidiary, affiliated or related companies, nor any of its advertising or promotional agencies, nor any promotional participants in this Sweepstakes, shall be responsible for late, lost, misdirected or incomplete entries, technical or software malfunctions, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, or delayed electronic communications, whether caused by the sender, by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this Sweepstakes, or by any human error which may occur in the processing of the entries of this Sweepstakes. Entries that are indecipherable or unintelligible for any reason, including, but not limited to, computer or network malfunction or congestion, are not eligible.

  3. To be eligible to enter this Sweepstakes, an entrant must be 18 years of age or older as of January 26, 2004, and a legal resident of the continental United States. Employees, and any agents and relatives of employees, of Universal Television Networks or any of its parent or related companies, affiliates, subsidiaries or advertising and promotional agencies, are not eligible to participate in or enter this Sweepstakes.

  4. This Sweepstakes will commence at 12:01 AM (EST) on January 26, 2004. All e-mail entries must be received by 11:59PM (EST), February 7, 2004. All entries will become the sole property of Universal Television Networks and will not be returned.

  5. All winning entries will be selected purely at random by Universal Television Networks. The first five eligible entries selected at random will win the Prize set forth in Section 8 below.

  6. The drawing will be conducted on or about February 9, 2004. All decisions by Universal Television Networks regarding this Sweepstakes shall be final. The winners will be notified by telephone or e-mail within five (5) business days after the drawing date.

  7. The winners will be required to complete and execute an affidavit of eligibility and publicity/liability release, and complete an IRS W-9 form, and return such documents to Universal Television Networks within seven (7) days of notification. Noncompliance within this time period, or the return of any prize or prize notification as undeliverable, will result in disqualification and an alternate winner will be selected in a subsequent random drawing. The winner's release will allow for the use of such winner's likeness and name for advertising, publicity and promotional purposes without compensation or limitation, unless prohibited by law. By entering this Sweepstakes, all entrants agree that neither Universal Television Networks nor any of its related or affiliated companies, nor any of their respective employees, officers, directors, parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries or advertising or promotional agencies, nor any other company participating in the design, administration or fulfillment of this Sweepstakes, shall be responsible or liable for any illnesses, injuries, losses, litigation, damages or costs of any kind that may result from the entrants' participation in this Sweepstakes or the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the Grand Prize or First Prize awarded hereunder.

  8. The Prize consists one (1) copy of the Alien Lockdown teleplay, autographed by John Savage, James Marshall and Michelle Goh. The total estimated value of the Prize is $50 (Fifty U.S. Dollars). There will be five (5) Prize winners. No cash substitutions will be allowed.

  9. The value of the Prize represents Universal Television Networks' actual good-faith determination of the maximum retail value thereof. For Form 1099 reporting purposes, the winners shall be bound by such good-faith determination.

  10. The Sponsor of the Sweepstakes is Universal Television Networks.

  11. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Taxes, if any, on the Prize are the sole responsibility of the respective winners. No prize substitution by a winner will be allowed. The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the stated prize is not available. No cash alternative will be awarded. By entering this Sweepstakes, all entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules.

  12. The Sponsor reserves the right to terminate online entry if technical difficulties compromise the integrity or ability to continue online entry. Where a dispute arises about who submitted an online entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the authorized holder of record of the e-mail account.

    NOTE: Internet entry must be made by the entrant only at the authorized Web-site address of www.scifi.com or www.scifi.com/alienlockdown/sweepstakes/. Entries made by any other individual or entity and/or originating at any other Internet Web site or e-mail address, including, but not limited to, commercial Sweepstakes subscription-notification and/or entering-service sites, will be declared invalid, and, as such, ruled ineligible for this Sweepstakes.

  13. Anyone may request a free copy of the official rules (as contained herein) and/or a statement setting forth the Prize winners by mailing a self-addressed, stamped envelope to:

  14. The odds of winning this Sweepstakes are indeterminate and depend upon the number of valid entries received.

  15. This Sweepstakes is void where prohibited or restricted by federal, state or local laws.

  16. By entering this Sweepstakes, the entrant authorizes Universal Television Networks to enter his/her name, address, telephone number and date of birth into the SCI FI database for direct-marketing purposes.

  17. Universal Television Networks will keep accurate records of this Sweepstakes through February 9, 2005.
