I think when the show started, I felt it gave television a new way to look at things in society to see how it might of gone if somehow, someone or something changed society for the good or bad of man kind. I know as a little kid, I always use to think it would be interesting to travel to alternate earths, to see how society was, and possibly how my life would of been different, if I had taken a different coarse in my life. And even throughout the series, it gave very possible ideas of how reality was, even if it seemed odd. Like in episodes Dragonslide or Sole Survivors or even Stoker that bring things to life that we wouldn't think of to exist.
