In a recent Starlog Interview John Rhys-Davies about his part in Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

Here is a little extract from the article:

Sliders, on which he played Professor Maximilian P. Arturo:
"The last bit of mail that I wrote [creator-producer] Tracy Tormé was actually commending one of his scripts: 'At last, some sign of intelligent life on Sliders.' Overall, it was a hugly disappointing experience. Sliders could have been the best show on television. I do not refer to Tormé when I say this, but another producer who actuallt chided me for being churlish about the quality of the scripts and said how hard it was to come up with new ideas for the show. I did remind him that you can, in fact, go anywhere in time and space. How anyone who claimed to be a writer could say that beggared my imagination. In truth, and this is a generality, there are a half a dozen unemployed members of the Writers Guild of America, and there is that coterie of almost talentless people in between seem to have most of the jobs. Sliders was just one of those great missed opportunities. But is was a lovley bunch of actors."
