SCI FI In The Classroom

The SCI FI Channel strives to provide teachers with programming and materials that will engage their students and help foster a greater understanding of the endless possibilities of science fiction. In keeping with this initiative, SCI FI is pleased to provide you with curriculum materials designed for use in high-school English classrooms. Aligned with national standards, these materials explore many topics that tie into your existing curriculum. Among the topics are:
  • Universal elements of fiction clearly illustrated in science-fiction works: character conflict, morality, reflections of the real world
  • Writing for a purpose
  • Personal reflection spurred by fiction — i.e., science fiction
