Bring science fiction alive in your classroom!

The SCI FI Channel is pleased to present a free, high school English curriculum program based on Frank Herbert's Children of Dune. Introduce your students to the limitless possibilities of science fiction while meeting your curriculum goals with these new and exciting materials!

When Frank Herbert wrote Dune in 1965, he started a saga that is unparalleled in the genre of science fiction. SCI FI continues the epic story in its upcoming March miniseries, Frank Herbert's Children of Dune. As part of SCI FI's continuing commitment to education, a special Cable in the Classroom documentary on Children of Dune has been created, along with five stand-alone lesson plans. Now you can bring the fascinating world of science fiction into your classroom by exploring the literary themes, characters, and storylines presented in Herbert's extraordinary chronicles.

The 30-minute Children of Dune documentary special airs commercial-free at 5:30AM ET/PT every Monday morning from Feb. 24 to March 31. Tape and view the documentary, then use any of the five lesson plans in conjunction with the video to complement your standard curriculum.

All the classroom materials you will need for this exciting program are available in PDF format for quick and easy download and printing. To view these documents, you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed. Click here for a free copy of Adobe Reader.
