DAVID R. KAPPES Producer David R. Kappes, producer of the Emmy Award-winning Frank Herbert's Dune, returns as producer of Frank Herbert's Children of Dune. Kappes is a seasoned veteran of feature-film and series-television production. He recently won an Emmy and a Peabody for producing the acclaimed miniseries Anne Frank (2001) for ABC. Kappes' other credits include The Vernon Johns Story, Tales from the Darkside: The Movie, In the Line of Duty: The FBI Murders, the Emmy-nominated The Night They Saved Christmas, Jaws 3, The Langoliers and the Emmy Award-winning Bill. Kappes holds a B.A. from Fordham University, where he majored in philosophy and English literature and minored in German literature and history. He began post-graduate study of American literature and law before embarking on an eclectic career path that has included work as a high-school teacher, fallout-shelter designer, cinematographer, draughtsman, middleweight boxer and television commercial producer.
