Classically trained British actor Edward Atterton has starred in numerous projects for cinema, television and theater.
Atterton recently completed Carolina Torn Asunder with Julia Stiles and Shirley MacLaine. Atterton is widely known for his portrayal of Sydney's murdered fiancé on ABC's hit action series Alias.
Atterton starred as King Arthur in the TNT miniseries Mists of Avalon with Anjelica Huston and Julianna Margulies; he also was featured in The Man in the Iron Mask, with Leonardo DiCaprio, Jeremy Irons and Gabriel Byrne; and he appeared in Relative Values with Julie Andrews.
Among his other credits are True Blue and Mr. Spielberg's Boat. For BBC-TV, Atterton has performed in Inspector Alleyn, The Vacillations of Poppy Carew, and Scarlet and Black, in which he appeared as Comte de Beauvoisis. His other TV projects include Once and Again, Britannic, Pie in the Sky, How to Speak Japanese, Medics, Poirot and Sharpe's Rifles.
Atterton starred in Three after having performed in TNT's critically acclaimed adaptation of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, starring Mandy Patinkin. On the stage, Atterton portrayed Septimus in director Trevor Nunn's Arcadia at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket; and starred as Marius in the Nottingham Playhouse production of Les Miserables.
Born in Birmingham, England, and raised in London, Atterton is now based in Los Angeles. He received his formal training at London's prestigious Central School of Speech and Drama.
