P.H. Moriarty's film credits include Guy Ritchie's feature Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, in which Moriarty starred as Hatchet Harry. Moriarty also has had parts in Chaplin, Patriot Games, Jaws 3 and the Western-inspired science-fiction film Outland. He also has starred in various British television programs, including the BBC's Law and Order, and Britain's critically acclaimed gangster film, The Long Good Friday.

Moriarty, a Londoner of Irish heritage, began acting late in life, having worked for many years in other professions, including as a boxer and a longshoreman. While a film crew was shooting a scene on the London docks one day, the production crew discovered Moriarty working, and they asked him to act in the film. Thus began his acting career.

"Someone asked me, 'How long have you been acting?'" Moriarty recalled. "I said, 'All my life. I only got paid for it recently.'"

In addition to boxing and regularly mentoring at a boys' club, Moriarty also is an avid golfer, especially when it's for charity. Among the charities for which he golfs is the British charity Sparks, which funds research into cures for diseases afflicting children.
