SCREAM 3 STAR MATT KEESLER JOINS THE CAST OF SCI FI MINISERIES FRANK HERBERT'S DUNE

Matt Keeslar has joined the cast of SCI FI Channels original miniseries adaptation Frank Herbert's Dune. Keeslar will assume the role of Feyd, the dashingly handsome but morally bankrupt nemesis to the epic's hero, Paul Atreides, played by newcomer Alec Newman. The miniseries, which is currently in production in Prague, also stars William Hurt and Giancarlo Giannini.

One of Hollywood's hottest young actors, Keeslar, best known for his role in the critically-acclaimed film Splendor, will soon be seen in Wes Craven's highly-anticipated Scream 3. Additionally, two films in which he stars, Psycho Beach Party and Urbania, will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival later this month. Along with the recent completion of filming on Texas Rangers, opposite James Van Der Beek and Dylan McDermott, Keeslar is working on The Reel, an independent film which he is co-writing as well as starring in.

Frank Herbert's Dune is written and directed by John Harrison (Tales from the Darkside: The Movie). Richard P. Rubinstein and Mitchell Galin, who worked together on Stephen King's The Stand and Pet Sematary, serve as executive producers. Three-time Academy Award-winner Vittorio Storaro (Last Emperor, Reds, Apocalypse Now) is the cinematographer, with Theodor Pistek, winner of the Academy Award for Amadeus, as costume designer. The miniseries has also secured César-winning production designer Miljen Kreka Kljakovic (Indochine, Delicatessen) and Emmy-nominated special effects supervisor Ernest Farino (From the Earth to the Moon).

Frank Herbert's Dune is a New Amsterdam production in association with Victor Television and BetaFilm.
