Joey Styles will forever be known as The Voice of ECW. From June 1993 through January 2001, Styles hosted and performed play-by-play duties for ECW's pay-per-views, television programs, home videos and video games.

April 13, 1997, at ECW Barely Legal, he became the first announcer to call a live pay-per-view broadcast on his own with no color commentators; Styles would then call seven subsequent pay-per-views alone as well.

Working behind the cameras, Joey Styles created, managed and co-owned ECWwrestling.com and the ECW Hard-core Hotline. He also wrote for and edited ECW Magazine and helped develop ECW's online and print merchandise catalogs.

Following the demise of ECW in January 2001, Styles left the sports-entertainment industry until WWE invited him to host the ECW One Night Stand pay-per-view on June 12, 2005. On Nov. 1, 2005, WWE once again invited Styles to return to the announcers' table for Taboo Tuesday. The following week he made his debut on Monday Night RAW. After a month-long audition, Styles signed a five-year deal with WWE in December 2005.

May 1, 2005, the relationship between Styles and WWE came to a sudden and bitter end. During a live broadcast of Monday Night RAW, Styles took to the mic and unleashed an emotional, anger-filled tirade toward the WWE powers that be. Citing frustration in not being able to perform his duties as he saw fit and a disgust toward the world of sports-entertainment, Styles quit WWE.

No longer tied down by the politics of WWE, Styles has returned to the place he called home for so many years, ECW.
