PRODUCTION BEGINS ON 5IVE DAYS TO MIDNIGHT
Major Five-Hour Miniseries from Lions Gate Television
Set to Commence Principal Photography
Principal production is underway on 5ive Days to Midnight, SCI FI Channel's next original miniseries event. Produced by Lions Gate Television in association with David Kirschner Productions and Hallmark Entertainment Distribution, the five-hour thriller is slated for a June 2004 premiere.
The story revolves around college professor J.T. Neumeyer, who stumbles upon a mysterious briefcase containing a police file filled with details of a gruesome murder his own. The file, complete with photos of his bullet-strewn corpse and a list of suspects, indicates that the shooting will take place in five days. Though skeptical at first, J.T. realizes, when events begin to mirror those in the report, that the file is real and time is quickly running out. He has only days to solve the mystery of his own murder and hopefully change the course of the future.
In order to maximize the suspense, the production will air as five one-hour episodes over five consecutive nights one hour for each day J.T. has to change his fate.
Executive producers of 5ive Days to Midnight are David Kirschner (Secondhand Lions, Frailty) and Corey Sienega (Secondhand Lions, Frailty), as well as Robert Zappia, who penned the original feature-film script upon which the miniseries is based, and the production's current writers Anthony Peckham (Don't Say a Word) and David Aaron Cohen (The Devil's Own). Cindy Meyers is also a writer on 5ive Days.
Hallmark Entertainment Distribution has worldwide rights to the project.
