A handle is a short, unique nickname by which you want to be known on SCIFI.COM. It's the identity you'll use for all Web-based, members-only SCIFI.COM activities.

Your e-mail address won't be accessible to anyone but us, and no one but us will be able to send you e-mail unless you explicitly allow it. Your demographic information goes immediately into a pool of information completely separate from your personal information, so we can't tell how any individual answered. We use it to get some sense of who our SCIFI.COM Members are as a group.

1. Choose a "handle."
   A handle is a short, unique nickname by which you'll be known on SCIFI.COM. Handles must be no more than 20 alphanumeric (letter and number) characters long.
   
   
2. Choose a password.
   Passwords have the same character restrictions as handles, but must be no more than 10 characters long. You need to type this password in both the "Password" and "Retype password" fields, to make sure you didn't mistype it one of those times.
   
   
3. Enter your full name and Internet e-mail address.
   Typical e-mail addresses are:

   ScreenName@aol.com
   123456.7890@compuserve.com
   NameHere@ix.netcom.com
   A_Name@worldnet.att.net
   name@concentric.net
   
   

4. Answer the demographic questions by clicking the appropriate "radio" buttons. We keep this information in a completely separate database, so we can't tell how any individual answered.
   
   
5. Then submit the form.
   You can always change your user profile after you've registered.
   
   
6. You are now a full member of SCIFI.COM!
