The Outer Limits
THE MICE
Directed by Alan Crosland, Jr.
Written by Bill S. Ballinger and Joseph Stefano

Dr. Thomas Kellander, Director of Neo-Kinematics, is in charge of a machine that will break down matter to electrical waves so it can be transmitted like radio and reassembled at the reception point. Contact has been made with the Planet Chromo and arrangement reached whereby Chromo will send one of its inhabitants to Earth and we will send a man to Chromo in the interest of science. But the Chromite is actually on a mission to test the Earth's environment to see if Chromites can live here and thereby start on an exodus to this planet.

The Chromite discovers that the breadlike substance he assimilates as food grows readily on Earth and, after killing a guard and a scientist, prepares to send for his people when he is finally captured. By radio, the Chromites admit their desperate plot because of an inability to produce food on their planet.

NOTE: Prolific actor Dabney Coleman, who starred in the controversial 1980s sitcom Buffalo Bill and played the evil boss in the hit film comedy 9 to 5, among his many other works, also appeared in The Outer Limits episodes "Specimen: Unknown" and "Wolf 359."
