Roy Clinton, a university professor, experiments with a drug that expands human consciousness. The drug not only increases Clinton's awareness and sensitivity, but also changes his appearance and gives him hypnotic power, as well as superhuman strength. The effect of the drug endangers Clinton, his brother-in-law and associate Dr. Peter Wayne, and the lives of everyone else around him.
NOTE: After this episode, guest star James Doohan went on to land his best-known role, as Montgomery Scott, a.k.a. "Scotty," of the classic 1960s Star Trek TV series and its feature-film incarnations.
