Author Biography and Bibliography

R. A. Lafferty was born in 1914 and worked in the electrical business until retiring in 1971. His first sf story was published in 1960, and over the next twenty-five years he produced about two hundred stories and over a dozen novels, including Past Master, The Reefs of Earth, and Fourth Mansions. His stories have been collected in Nine Hundred Grandmothers, Strange Doings, and several other collections. He stopped writing around 1980 because of health problems. He died in 2002.
