Tom Reamy was the working name of writer, movie projectionist, and graphic designer Thomas Earl Reamy. A transplanted Texan who lived in Kansas City and later in Independence, Missouri, he built a solid reputation for work in the tradition of Ray Bradbury and Richard Matheson in the three years between his first published story (Twilla, in 1974) and his premature death in 1977. He won the John W. Campbell Award for best new writer and the Nebula Award for his novelette San Diego Lightfoot Sue.
