Author Biography

J.R. Dunn began writing in the days of the Patriarchs and has continued into the present age, doomed to scribble on for all Eternity.

He's sold to most of the magazines, including Analog, Asimov's, Omni, Century, and Amazing. Most of his stories have been cited on best-of-year lists with many selected for anthologies.

His first novel, This Side of Judgment, appeared from Harcourt Brace in 1994. It got excellent reviews nationwide (the only negatives from Locus and somebody in Canada, naturally enough). His second novel, Days of Cain, the first SF work to grapple with the Holocaust, was published by Avon in the summer of 1997. Full Tide of Night appeared in 1998, combining the Khmer Rouge with Webster's revenge drama The Duchess of Malfi. It was nominated for "Worst Cover Art" by the National Society of Professional Editors but lost to Hillary Clinton's It Takes a Village.

Dunn also works as an editor, with his latest achievement in this field the rendering of the work of G****** N***** into English as opposed to whatever language they speak out in California.

Dunn lives in New Jersey, a small, barbarous region between New York and Pennsylvania.
