Author Biography and Bibliography

Patrick O'Leary was born in Saginaw, Michigan. He graduated with a B.A. in journalism from Wayne State University. His poetry has appeared in literary magazines across North America. His first novel, Door Number Three (Tor) was chosen by Publisher's Weekly as one of the best novels of the year. His second novel, The Gift (Tor) was a finalist for the World Fantasy Award and the Mythopoeic Award. His collection of fiction, non-fiction, and poetry Other Voices, Other Doors (Fairwood Press) came out in January 2001. His third novel The Impossible Bird came out from Tor (January 2002). Recent short fiction has appeared in two anthologies: Mars Probes and Infinity Plus One. His story "The Black Heart" is in Year's Best Fantasy 2. More fiction is forthcoming in a special "New Wave Fabulist" issue of Conjunctions. His novels have been translated into German, Japanese, Polish, and French. Currently he is an associate creative director at an advertising agency. His work has won numerous industry awards. He travels extensively, but he makes his home in the Detroit area with his wife and sons.
