Since his debut in the mid-eighties, Robert Reed has produced a substantial and quirky body of work. Eleven novels have been published to date, including The Well of Stars (Tor)—the much-anticipated sequel to Marrow. Reed has also sold more than a hundred shorter works, a few of which have garnered nominations for the major science fiction awards. Two collections of his stories have been published, The Dragons of Springplace and The Cuckoo's Boys, both available from Golden Gryphon Press. He is currently working on a novel or two, a sack of stories, and the ultimate purpose of the Great Ship.

Reed's other distractions include gardening, ponds, running on aging legs, and reading about every persuasion of science. He lives in Lincoln, Nebraska, with his wife, Leslie, and daughter, Jessie.
