Locus called Kristine Kathryn Rusch's most recent science fiction/mystery novel, Buried Deep, "a grand act of Sfnal imagination." The novel is part of a loosely connected Endeavor award winning series based on Rusch's Hugo-nominated "Retrieval Artist" novella. Rusch's next novel, "Paloma," will appear next spring. Meanwhile, Rusch continues her award-winning short story career. Last year, her stories appeared in both the Year's Best Science Fiction, the World's Finest Mystery and Crime Stories as well as in the premiere anthology, A Moment on the Edge: 100 Years of Crime Stories by Women.
The current mystery novel is War at Home under the name Kris Nelscott. She was nominated for an Edgar last year for her story "Cowboy Grace," in an sf anthology, Silver Gryphon. She won the Northwest's premiere mystery award, the Spotted Owl, and the year before, she won the Northwest's premiere sf award, the Endeavor.
