Larry Harmon, who turned the character of Bozo the Clown into a show-business staple for more than a half-century, died last week of congestive heart failure, the Associated Press reported; he was 83.

A blog, BloodCopy, and a product Web site for Tru Blood "synthetic blood nourishment beverage" have gone live, part of a viral marketing campaign to promote HBO's upcoming vampire drama True Blood, which premieres Sept. 7 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Because of the July 4th holiday, SCI FI Wire will not be updated again until July 7.
