1996 Hugo Award honorable mentions

Each year the World Science Fiction Society releases a list of honorable mentions for the Hugo Award. The list includes all non-finalists that appeared on at least 5 percent of the nominating ballots in their categories, or were among the 15 candidates with the greatest number of nominations in their categories, and which also received at least five nominations. The list also includes candidates that received enough nominations to become finalists but which were withdrawn or declared ineligible. According to the WSFS, eligibility of the items and accuracy of the information about them has not always been confirmed. The number appearing to the left of each candidate is the number of nominations it received:
