The award-winning Uplift saga

avid Brin's first novel Sundiver, was released in 1980. That was the start of the Uplift saga which was followed by Startide Rising in 1983. This second book won both the Hugo and Nebula awards and established Brin as hard science fiction writer. The third book in the series, The Uplift War, continued both the Uplift story and Brin's winning ways as he garnered a second Hugo for his efforts.

Brightness Reef has been eagerly awaited by Brin's many fans and is just the start of a second Uplift trilogy. If history is any example, their patience will be well rewarded.
