Martin Lloyd is working in television, as the producer of a new series. The show is called Wormhole X-treme, and it almost perfectly mirrors the Stargate program's personnel and equipment.
Martin is back on his medication and cannot remember his own alien nature, but apparently his subconscious does that's how he developed and sold the show concept. The Air Force decides to let the show develop, because it gives them "plausible deniability" regarding the Stargate project.
Unfortunately, the Kepler Space Probe detects an incoming vessel whose energy signature matches that of Martin's escape pod. Col. Jack O'Neill is assigned to the TV series as a "technical advisor," but his real job is to keep an eye on Martin and to find out why his ship is returning to Earth.
