Synopsis: Dr. Christine Chapel's reunion with Roger Corby, her lost fiancé, on Exo III turns from joy to despair when she and Kirk realize the doctor's dark plan to replicate android copies of humans using ancient Exosian technology. Aided by his other androids and Ruk, an original built by Exo III's extinct natives, Corby even captures and copies Kirk in order to preserve his secret. Although Spock detects the duplicate thanks to a flaw planted by Kirk, Chapel comes in for an even bigger shock that changes her life forever.
