Synopsis:
Kirk's crew time-treks back to observe how 1960's Earth survived the
tense nuclear era when they intercept a human-appearing man with
superior technology about to sabotage an orbiting nuclear platform due
to launch. The man claims to be Gary Seven, a human raised by aliens
and sent to help his people through the brinkmanship and other crisises
of the Cold War. With Seven's ditsy but supportive secretary Roberta
Lincoln in the way as well, Kirk and Spock never know when to trust the
enigmatic agent -- but their hand is forced after he successfully dooms
the nuclear platform to fall out of orbit. Now the Starfleet crew have
to decide in a hurry if Seven is an unknown facet of normal history or
out to doom the planet and their own future history.

That year, Teri Garr also appeared in 2 feature films: "Head," the Monkees' psychedelic romp and
"Maryjane," about a teacher framed for marijuana possession. Both films could be characterized
by her Star Trek character Roberta Lincoln's line "Mr. Seven, I want to believe you, I do. I
mean I know this world needs help. That's why some of my generation are kind of crazy and rebels,
you know. We wonder if we're gonna be alive when we're 30."
