Synopsis: When the Enterpriseis forced to attack a Melkot space marker buoy in self-defense, Kirk's senior officers as punishment are planted by the Melkot amid a surreal recreation of the Ancient West's "Gunfight at the OK Corral." The Starfleet men are cast as the ill-fated Clanton gang in a seemingly inescapable death sentence, but their fragmentary, incomplete surroundings -- and the too-early death of Chekov as Billy Claiborne -- give hope to finding a way out. Eventually, his human colleagues find they must put their faith and trust their lives to Spock's Vulcan telepathy.
