This sighting took place in Mexico, in the state of Jalisco, roughly 45 minutes' drive southwest of Guadalajara, in a small town called Catarina, in the county (municipio in Spanish) of Zacoalco.

It was early August, 2002. I believe it was a Saturday night; a thunderstorm was coming in from the northeast. I looked out through the bathroom window in my mom's two-story home, and I saw a strange light [in the direction of] the mountains, northwest of town.

At first I thought it was a street light, but it was too high up; then I thought it might be a light tower on the mountain. I observed it closely; it had the shape of a triangle, with lights on each corner and one in the center. I still doubted it was on the mountain, so I waited for a lightning strike [to illuminate] the mountains. As the lightning struck, I saw the mountain clearly and realized the object was in the sky. Then I realized it must be a UFO because it was just sitting there in the sky and its lights were not blinking. As the storm was coming in, the object just disappeared.

About three weeks ago, my sister saw a classic UFO-shaped object [a disk — Ed.] in the same location. It was late afternoon; the sun was going down. She described it to be silver [in color] and very shiny. The sun was reflecting off of it. She observed it for about a minute; she said it just took off into the sky, almost disappearing from her view.

I don't know if we live in a "hot spot" for UFOs, but a lot of people have seen UFOs around this area.
