FILER'S FILES

NEWS BRIEFS

PENNSYLVANIA BRIGHT CIGAR SHAPED PULSATING OBJECT

FILER'S FILES EXCLUSIVE: ALSACE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Peter Davenport of NUFORC filed the following witness report:

"My wife and I were driving home at 9:30 p.m., on November 7, 2002, after visiting some friends. I admit I had a couple of cocktails before dinner, but my wife hadn't, and she saw the same object, hovering above a house on Alsace Avenue.

"We saw a cigar-shaped, pulsating object that seemed to change its size and shape, becoming brighter and more elongated as we watched. This aroused our curiosity, and my wife said 'Quick, stop the car!'

"I pulled over and we got out, and though I was scared stiff, I attempted to [move] a little closer [to the object]. But we were overcome by flashes of light that seemed to emanate from the object, and we experienced what seemed like an out-of-body experience, as though we ourselves were being lifted up into space.

"Frankly, it was pretty hairy; we were quite excited, though it didn't last long, for it [the UFO] ... disappeared as quickly as it [had appeared]."

MICHIGAN SAUCER WITH RED AND WHITE LIGHTS

FILER'S FILES EXCLUSIVE: FLINT, Mich. — The witnesses, a mother and daughter who have asked to remain anonymous, saw a saucer-shaped craft hovering above their home on November 13, 2002, as they pulled onto their driveway at 10:35 p.m. In a statement to Peter Davenport of NUFORC, they said:

"We saw a structured, saucer-type craft 50 feet in diameter with many white and red lights on it. It traveled slowly west for two minutes, but we could not believe what we were witnessing. The craft was just above the tree lines, making a weird humming noise.

"The craft was not an airplane or [anything] manmade."

MINNESOTA PILOT OBSERVES DELTA-SHAPED UFO

FILER'S FILES EXCLUSIVE: SAVAGE, Minn. — MUFON's Bill McNeff reported the following witness account:

A pilot observed a delta-shaped object in clear skies on October 14, 2002, flying south at 1:22 a.m. The object had three soft-white lights at its vertices; [the lights] shone downward. [The object] was about 40 feet in width [and flew] at an altitude of roughly 1,500 feet at a velocity of approximately 150 knots. The pilot stated:

"It flew straight and level for about five seconds, then rolled right to a 45-degree angle, which caused its downward lights to appear brighter, as they were directed more toward me. The object then rolled left, back to a straight-and-level position, without making a sound."

The object never appeared to change course or altitude during this rolling activity. Soon afterward, visual contact with the object was lost as it approached the horizon. The object was last observed passing in front of the beams of light from the Mystic Lake Casino.

The observer, an experienced local civilian pilot, is familiar with the air traffic around Minneapolis International Airport, situated roughly 20 miles to the northeast of the sighting location. The observed object did not conform to any recognizable aircraft navigational lighting or flight patterns. Its sudden rolling activity and lack of audible sound is not characteristic of commercial aircraft.

'BOOMERANG' SIGHTED OVER KANSAS HOME

FILER'S FILES EXCLUSIVE: ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. — The following anonymous report was submitted via e-mail:

"On November 9, 2002, I walked outside to help my daughter and her son to their car," the witness wrote. "She said she had seen a brilliant green shooting star earlier in the evening. So we looked up, and we both said, 'Oh my God, what is that?' We both were looking at an immense, gray flying boomerang with no lights; it was flying north at approximately 9:30 p.m., and it made no sound. It was so big that the only way to see its shape was by the fact that it was blocking out the stars behind it.

"The event passed and my daughter and grandson left. I went back inside the house to try to continue watching a movie with my neighbor. Later, at 1 a.m., I asked my neighbor to walk outside with me, because I wanted to look again. My neighbor yelled and pointed up, and there was the craft again! This time, the object was moving toward the southeast and was directly above our house. It seemed to be in orbit, with the object near the Little Dipper. The neighborhood dogs were all barking frantically during both events. During both sightings I also witnessed shooting stars nearby.

"I live close to McConnell Air Force Base and frequently see standard aircraft, but this thing was really scary, it was so huge."

THREE LARGE HOVERING UFOs OVER KANSAS PARKING LOT

FILER'S FILES EXCLUSIVE: WICHITA, Kan. — Matthew A. Hitt phoned in the following firsthand report of a UFO sighting:

"On November 21, 2002, I left work and went outside in the parking lot and looked up and saw three pinkish-white UFOs in the sky. I watched for a few minutes as normal commercial aircraft also flew over. I went back to my place of work and asked other employees to come out and look. I pointed the objects out to 15 other witnesses, who agreed these were not normal flying objects. I grabbed a pair of binoculars and watched for 10 minutes, starting around 5:45 p.m., as the sun set.

"The three UFOs hovered in the sky about one kilometer away. They were larger than commercial aircraft and made none of the sounds normal planes would make. No one knew what they were."

Hitt added, "I live close to McConnell Air Force Base and they [the UFOs] were nothing like anything flying from the base."

ARIZONA WITNESS SPIES BRIGHT BLUE OBJECT

FILER'S FILES EXCLUSIVE: TEMPE, Ariz. — An anonymous witness reported seeing an object with a blue-and-white center and a bright blue outer ring traveling west at 9:33 p.m. on November 9, 2002.

"This was brighter and larger than any object I have seen in the night sky," the witness wrote in an e-mail. " It was huge. I was facing north and saw it fly past in about five seconds at 60 degrees above the horizon."

ARIZONA NATIVE REPORTS 30-YEAR-OLD UFO-SIGHTING

FILER'S FILES EXCLUSIVE: PHOENIX — Michael submitted the following e-mail report:

"Back in the summer 1974, when I was 15, my three friends and I often escaped the summer heat of the city by driving into the desert north of Phoenix, to get some fresh air. One evening we were idling along, northbound on Happy Valley Road, just talking, laughing and listing to rock-and-roll music.

"We heard a sound in the sky, and all four of us leaned out the windows of our yellow Dodge Duster and gazed skyward. We saw a perfectly round craft with orange glowing lights around it.

"The sound emanated ... from the craft, which must be why we heard it approaching. It flew right over us — whoosh, from horizon to horizon in about 15 seconds. It seemed to glide or just skim the sky, very smoothly, in a straight line until it was out of sight.

"I asked my friends, 'Did you see that?' There was silence, then the driver said, 'Yaw, but I'm not telling anybody.' I've never forgotten."

(Thanks to Michael.)

COUPLE WITNESSES FLYING DISC OVER HOLLYWOOD

FILER'S FILES EXCLUSIVE: BURBANK, Calif. — "On Sunday morning at 12:30 a.m., on November 10, 2002, I saw a circular object heading east over the Santa Monica Mountains above the Sherman Oaks/Studio City area," an anonymous witness wrote in an e-mail report. "The circular object had four pairs of lights positioned at [60-degree intervals around its circumference].

"I walked out onto my back lawn as the pairs of lights went off, and the object seemed to change shape. It sort of undulated as it changed shape. As it morphed it took the shape of a boomerang for a second, and then resumed undulating. It then made a 45-degree right-hand turn and headed south. There was a white light flashing in the middle of the changing shape as it moved away from me. It was very bizarre!"

UFO BUZZES L.A. TRAFFIC, TRAILED BY HELICOPTERS

FILER'S FILES EXCLUSIVE: LOS ANGELES — On November 11, 2002, two witnesses were driving to Ventura at 7:30 p.m. when motorists from another car told them to look up at the UFO.

"We saw a green, oval-shaped object floating in the sky," the witness said, "and a minute later we saw at least 10 helicopters, I'm not kidding. We even saw a huge [military] helicopter."

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA DUO SPOTS ORANGE UFO

FILER'S FILES EXCLUSIVE: SAN JOSE, Calif. — "My friend Tom and I were just leaving the post office on November 11, 2002, in my pickup [truck] when I saw an orange, star-like object moving slowly beneath the moon," the witness stated in a report to Peter Davenport of NUFORC.

"I asked Tom, 'Do you see that?' He replied, 'Yes!' I stopped the truck in the parking lot at 8:08 p.m., and we both quickly got out for a better look. It was an orange, flame-colored, star-like object that was moving slowly east; it was much slower than a plane. Then it just seemed to disappear, or perhaps [it] flew into the nighttime clouds or [was obscured by] haze. I briefly saw it dimly flare again, and then it seemed to be totally gone."

(Thanks to Peter Davenport of NUFORC.)

UFO OVERFLIES EASTERN CANADA

FILER'S FILES EXCLUSIVE: TORONTO — A witness, who asked not to be identified, made the following report via e-mail:

"I saw the strange object at 1 a.m., on or about November 10, 2002. My co-worker also saw the same object, last week around 10:30 p.m., at the same place. I am not saying what it was [that I saw] in the sky, but it didn't look like a plane to me. My co-worker thought the same. The altitude of the object was higher than planes normally fly, and it was heading toward Toronto."

GOLD SAUCER ABOVE CANADIAN COPPER MINE

FILER'S FILES EXCLUSIVE: GRANISLE, BRITISH COLUMBIA — Brian Vike relayed the following anonymous report from the UFO Canadian Communicator:

"I was contacted by a gentleman who is an authority from Granisle, a town of 400 residents in the western Canadian province of British Columbia," Vike wrote. "The witness was driving with his partner on October 22, 2002, when they observed a large, glowing, orange-gold saucer-shaped object hovering right over the top of the old Bell Copper Mine, which is located on an island in Babine Lake, at 10:25 p.m.

"The witnesses pulled over and watched the object hover low to the ground, then rise up very slowly, come to a complete stop, move sideways, then stop and descend again. The lights' intensity grew as the witnesses watched, and the object moved out over the lake and stopped for a few seconds, then went back to hover over the top of the mine once again.

"The witnesses said the ground beneath and around the object was lit up for a considerable distance, and the brightness of the craft caused it to cast a strong reflection on the lake. The men watched for about seven minutes, until it rose up and departed slowly, heading north, maintaining a low altitude until it was out of their sight."

[ HBCC UFO Note: I find this a very interesting case because the craft was sitting over the closed Granisle Bell Copper Mine, where numerous fossils have been found, including mammoth bones. Thanks to Brian Vike, editor of UFO Canadian Communicator. ]

UFO SIGHTED OVER CHILE

FILER'S FILES EXCLUSIVE: SAN VICENTE DE TAGUA, Chile — Guillermo Aguilera reported via e-mail that on November 21, 2002, the witness, Luis Sepulveda Castro, a security guard at a corporate warehouse, went outside the building to look at the sky and was able to see a strange object moving in a northwest-to-southeast direction at 11 p.m.

Using binoculars, Castro was able to discern that the object was spherical in shape, had a red-colored base, and gave off intermittent green flashes from its upper section. The object moved slowly. The witness reported that his observation of the object lasted for 45 minutes.

TWO CRAFT MAKE FORMATION FLIGHT OVER U.K. TOWNSHIP

FILER'S FILES EXCLUSIVE: WOLVERHAMPTON, England — Two craft flying in formation, one above the other at very slow speed, were seen above this rural community on November 11, 2002.

After two-to-three minutes, the two craft split up. One disappeared for roughly one minute and then was visible again. Local residents speculated that maybe its lights simply went off, allowing it to be concealed by darkness. After it reappeared, the craft flew away toward the east at 6:40 p.m.

The second craft traveled away slowly in the same direction. The second craft remained visible for the duration of the sighting.

ITALIAN WATCHMAN HAS DISTURBING CLOSE ENCOUNTER

FILER'S FILES EXCLUSIVE: ORBASSANO, Italy — The Italian Center for UFO Studies reported the following sighting in its weekly e-mil newsletter, translated and reproduced here by permission:

A clamor was raised all over Italy because of a mysterious object sighted by a night watchman in Turin, in the early hours of September 28, 2002.

The watchman said, "The UFO phenomenon was preceded by control monitors in the surveillance cabin failing. At the same time, the electronic-controlled gate opened by itself in the truck rest area at 4:27 a.m." The young man went outside to investigate the malfunctions and felt something akin to a slight breeze, which was accompanied by a whistling noise. He then found himself shrouded in a beam of light emanating from above his head.

He looked up and saw a luminous disc approximately 3 meters in diameter hovering and rotating. The disc streaked away, moving out of sight within seconds, as if "swallowed up by the sky." The witness awakened a man who was asleep in his truck in the rest area, but the trucker hadn't noticed anything unusual.

In the security office, the monitor then came back on. The frightened watchman then telephoned the Carabinieri [local police]. The watchman appeared shaken when the patrol squad arrived, and he recounted everything that had transpired.

UFO HOVERING OVER SOUTHERN UKRAINE

FILER'S FILES EXCLUSIVE: SIMFEROPOL, Ukraine — Anton A. Anfalov reported via e-mail that on Monday, November 18, 2002, at about 6 a.m., a bright object was noticed hovering over the Eastern Crimean Autonomous Republic, southeast of the city of Simferopol.

The object appeared to be several times brighter than the planet Venus, and was sighted at 30 degrees above the horizon. After 10 minutes of continuous observation it suddenly vanished. The last detail indicated that it was a UFO, not merely Venus distorted by atmospheric anomalies. The object disappeared very abruptly, not gradually.

Anfalov has witnessed several similar phenomena, many involving strange, moving or hovering bright star-like objects that are definitely neither satellites, Venus nor Jupiter.

"For some reason," Anfalov said, "the Crimean Peninsula is a subject of peculiar interest to UFOs."

[ Editor's Notes: Alien activity here might be using something like "portals" that were detected above the Lograf mountain ridge north of Yalta. Some kind of "alien navigation beacons" very likely serve to indicate approaches to those portals on Mt. Ayju-Dag ("Bear Mountain"), Mt. Northern Demerdzhi ("Valley of Phantoms"), and some few other points here. Three strange dots of light observed during daytime were sighted on the sharp eastern slope of Mt. Ayju-Dag in 2001. There are absolutely no houses, frontier guard posts, etc. In other words, absolutely no indigenous people who could have caused the lights. ]

UFO FLEET OVER TURKEY? THE DEBATE CONTINUES....

FILER'S FILES EXCLUSIVE: AFYON and YALOVA, Turkey — John Alexander wrote to us concerning the alleged November 1, 2002, sighting by six passenger-airline crews of a UFO fleet over Turkey.

"The objects the airline crews saw were most likely the Russian Soyuz debris entering the atmosphere near Turkey at the time of this sighting," Alexander wrote. "The time, location and trajectory were all predicted before the event happened. Furthermore, after checking with those who observe asteroids, it was determined that none were in the area at that time."

The Turkish UFO Research Group Sirius has written the following response to Alexander's argument:

"One of the claims that has been put forward is that the object was the 2002-050b decay that broke up from Soyuz rocket launched on October 30, 2002, at 03:11 GMT, heading for International Space Station. The empty rocket body weighs 2350 kg, is 2.7 meters in diameter and 6.7 meters long. ... A rocket fragment 2.7 meters in diameter and 6.7 meters long would have burned up and been scattered in the mesosphere during re-entry, at between 70 and 100 kilometers altitude.

"Let us suppose that it [the rocket segment] had (miraculously) maintained its original mass until it had descended to an altitude of 40,000 feet. How would we then explain its splitting into between 15 and 20 pieces, each 30 to 40 meters in length and intensely bright? And how did these scattered pieces fly horizontally, in apparent defiance of the laws of gravity?

"The rocket debris was traveling [at an altitude of] 256,000 feet from southeast to northwest, and the UFO was traveling [at an altitude of] between 20,000 to 40,000 feet, from west to east. Simulations of the UFOs' flight in front of the airliner clearly show that the UFOs and the rocket debris were different objects, traveling in different directions and [at different altitudes]. The rocket debris was traveling southeast to northwest, in the same general direction as the airliner, thus it could not have flown across (intersected) the airliner's path. The rocket debris was at least 229,000 feet above and traveling in the same direction as the airliner."

The photos are compelling. See them at http://www.siriusufo.org/engnews/haber.htm.

[ Editors Note: It is my experience that space debris or meteors breaking apart can easily be confused for UFOs. However, meteors or space debris last for only a few seconds in Earth's atmosphere. The pilots' statements seem to indicate that they had the objects continuously in sight between 5:30 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. There is also some evidence that UFOs use events such as falling debris or meteoroids to conceal their own entry. ]
