Visions for Tomorrow – Change Academy
The Visions for Tomorrow Change Academy is the campaign’s heart. Like science fiction, the Change Academy prompts us to reflect on where we are and where we’re going. The Change Academy engages citizens, especially youth, to hold up a mirror to our individual lives, our communities, and our planet. It is a call to action to change what we see.

Mini-Summits
Working closely with partner organizations, the crux of the Change Academy will be its, educational mini-summits. Taking place in various cities across the country, the summits will bring together local experts and community members, particularly those of the millennial generation, in a compelling and creative atmosphere to explore ways to achieve a positive future and to inspire everyone to work together to accomplish a specific goal within the community.

Beginning in 2007, the Change Academy mini-summits first tackle energy consumption and the impact of over-reliance on fossil fuels. With events planned in Charlotte, NC and Boston, MA in the spring, the summit participants work together before the summit to reflect on the status quo and identify how and why we need to change. However, a summit is not a culmination of those efforts -- it is a kick-start to the community to change.

Curriculum Resources
Change Academy curriculum resources similarly encourage reflection and projection in ways that build skills around story-telling and scientific inquiry. The Change Academy provides educators and students with curriculum resources that foster meaningful learning around the central tenets of Visions for Tomorrow. Science Fiction teaches us to reflect on current activities and project their impact on the future. All of the Change Academy resources available now and in the future cite the curriculum standards that they address, inspire leadership and change, and help students develop and work toward their visions for tomorrow.
