Implementation of that order, bungled by covert operatives Krycek and Luis Cardinal, a.k.a. Hispanic Man, result in problematic collateral damage. PAPER CLIP (Entry three of three) Various Locations — Reunited, Mulder and Scully go to ground seeking to escape our operatives' pursuit. Due to factors beyond our control, we are forced to reach a small accommodation with the two agents and their immediate superior, FBI Assistant Director Skinner, on the issue of the "MJ Files" detailing our project. Krycek goes rogue. D.P.O. Connerville, Okla. — Mulder and Scully investigate a murderous young man who, through a spontaneous physiological transmutation triggered by a lightning strike, can control electricity. CLYDE BRUCKMAN'S FINAL REPOSE St. Paul, Minn. — Mulder and Scully team up with a reluctantly precognitive life-insurance salesperson in order to catch a homicidal psychic. THE LIST Leon County, Fla. — A death-row convict at Eastpoint State Penitentiary, having vowed to take his revenge on several men there, appears to make good on his threat — after his execution. 2SHY Cleveland, Ohio — Mulder and Scully investigate a series of murders against women contacted through an Internet personals site, and whose bodies are discovered completely devoid of fat cells. THE WALK Fort Evanston, Md. — When a spectral soldier appears to be murdering the families of military officials, Mulder and Scully try to prove that an evidently astral-projecting quadriplegic man is responsible. OUBLIETTE Seattle, Wash. — A former kidnapping victim seems to have a psychic connection with another girl who has gone missing under similar circumstances. NISEI Various Locations — An alien-autopsy video leads Mulder to a train transporting what he believes is a living extraterrestrial. Elsewhere, Scully encounters a group of women who insist they know her because they "all have been abducted, too." 731 Various Locations — Mulder is locked inside an explosively rigged train car with our wet-works operative [NAME WITHHELD], a.k.a. Red-Haired Man, and an alien-human hybrid. REVELATIONS Loveland, Ohio — Scully's religious faith, as well as her relationship with Mulder, is tested when the agents encounter a boy who exhibits stigmata — the wounds of the crucifixion. WAR OF THE COPROPHAGES Miller's Grove, Mass. — When killer cockroaches infest a small town, Mulder and Scully must fight the community's growing paranoia and determine whether the bugs are the product of a genetic manipulation, or if they are actually tiny, alien-made robots. Mulder exhibits a heightened interest in a voluptuous entomologist named Dr. Bambi Berenbaum. SYZYGY During a rare astrological alignment, two high-school girls wreak havoc on the highly isolated town of Comity, where our incomplete records indicate Mulder and Scully are caught up in some form of cosmic chaos. GROTESQUE Washington, D.C. — Mulder is drawn deeper and deeper into the mind of a serial killer who claims to be possessed by an evil spirit — which then appears to exert its influence over Mulder. PIPER MARU Various Locations — A French salvage ship unknowingly brings a deadly cargo into a San Diego port, and Mulder and Scully track a bizarre entity (which we have since codenamed "the Oilean") that can jump from body to body — leading Mulder to form a precarious alliance with rogue former operative Krycek in Hong Kong. Skinner, unofficially investigating the death of Scully's sister Melissa, is shot by Luis Cardinal, a.k.a. Hispanic Man, in an unauthorized attempt at covering-up his bungled termination order of Scully. APOCRYPHA Various Locations — As Mulder pursues Krycek — who not only harbors the "Oilean" entity, but knows the whereabouts of the digital "MJ Files" detailing our project — Scully arrests Luis Cardinal, a.k.a. Hispanic Man, whom we terminate. PUSHER Loudoun County, Va. — Mulder and Scully race to find a man who possesses an extraordinary telepathic ability to force his deadly will on others. TESO DOS BICHOS Boston — A pattern of deaths occur after an Ecuadorian female-shaman mummy, or amaru, is brought to a museum from its Teso Dos Bichos site. HELL MONEY San Francisco — While investigating the mysterious death of a man inside a crematory oven, Mulder and Scully stumble upon a secret society of Chinese immigrants who run a deadly lottery. JOSE CHUNG'S FROM OUTER SPACE Washington, D.C.; Klass County, Wash. — Author Jose Chung, researching his non-fiction book From Outer Space, interviews Scully about disputed and highly farfetched events that he alleges occurred one night on a Pacific Northwest country road and involved abductees, cigarette-smoking aliens, Men in Black and Jeopardy host Alex Trebek. AVATAR Washington, D.C. — Assistant Director Skinner, in the midst of divorce proceedings and flashing back to a spectral old woman he believes he encountered during his tour of duty in Vietnam, is suspected of murdering a woman he has slept with. QUAGMIRE Heuvelman's Lake, Ga. — When partially eaten pieces of human bodies begin appearing in a small town's lake, Mulder and Scully investigate the town's Loch Ness-like legend of something large and prehistoric living in its waters. WETWIRED Braddock Heights, Md. — In another of our field tests, subjects receiving subliminal messages transmitted covertly through their television sets commit homicide on command. TALITHA CUMI (Entry one of two) Arlington, Va.; Quonochontaug, R.I. — Mulder and Scully encounter "Jeremiah Smith," who miraculously heals gunshot victims at a fast-food restaurant and whom they learn is a shapeshifter opposed to The Project — the details of which he begins to reveal to the agents in detail. The Bounty Hunter is dispatched to terminate this Smith, who is one of several shapeshifters we cloned and placed for Project purposes in Social Security Administration offices throughout the country. back to top
